Back to green

“Back to Green” is a community initiative aimed at enhancing the utilization of green spaces within urban areas. The project encourages families and a minimum of two peer volunteers to create and maintain gardens in their neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to establish these gardens with a commitment to their long-term care, with no specific time limit set—rather, the objective is sustained and ongoing maintenance for as long as possible. Our main goal is utilization of green spaces in the city. We want to spread the project as much as possible and to have as many gardens/meadows as possible. We plan on implementing our project through engaging families and peer groups through community outreach efforts, workshops and informational sessions to encourage participation. Participants will identify suitable locations within their neighborhoods for garden establishment. They will plan and design their gardens, considering factors such as plant selection, garden layout, and sustainability practices (e.g., composting, water conservation). We want to emphasize the importance of ongoing care and maintenance of the gardens. Our participants will commit to regular watering, weeding, pruning, and overall upkeep to ensure the health and longevity of their green spaces. We will provide resources and support networks to help participants troubleshoot challenges and exchange gardening tips. It’s very important to encourage peer-to-peer learning and mentorship among participants. We will encourage participants to share their experiences and successes with others in their communities, inspiring more families and groups to join the initiative. Facilitate the spread of the project to new neighborhoods and areas of the city.

Pensioners – a bridge between young people and tradition

The idea for this project stems from two important values that we consider essential in modern society, namely: to preserve tradition and cultural heritage and yes passed on to the new generations, as well as to provide support for the elderly and improve the quality of life at the same time .With this initiative of ours, we combine these values in one project through which we will act on their advancement. The project aims to create an empathetic community, where different generations can share their experiences and knowledge, and also learn from their peers. Our focus is on implementing activities that help preserve traditions as well as create strong ties between different groups in the community to support the older generations. On the one hand, paying attention to the elderly is our primary obligation. Volunteers, consisting of parents and children, will pay attention n old citizens through occasional visits and various types of socializing , creating a warm and supportive environment. On the other hand, through various educational and creative activities , our project focuses on transferring knowledge and skills related to tradition and cultural heritage from the older generations to the younger ones. This creates a platform for intergenerational exchange of experiences, creating a new bridge between the old and the young. The project also aims to encourage peer learning, transfer of knowledge and experiences from positive solutions to the same or similar challenges faced by parents .
